Sprite animations featuring Mario and Sonic aren't something new on the site. This includes even the way you displayed them here in a dragon ball or anime-esque presentation.

A little tip as well, NEVER EVER FLIPPIN EVER use the nintendo logo or sega logo(or any trademarks for that matter, that's the R thing in the circle) You are 10x more likely to get DMCA'd(though that is uncommon here to my knowledge) simply because a company can actually lose their trademark if they don't control who is allowed to use it, where they display it and what form it is displayed in. That being said they also aren't actually affiliated with you in making your sprite series so it's pointless credits.

However, none of this is why I gave you a low score.

There isn't too much to the animation. there are a ton of sprite sheet loops and even more still of the characters doing nothing(though I do understand that is very anime) but just makes the video lacking. As an intro it is very long(again I know, anime) which can suck if you see it before EVERY episode you will make and frankly the fact it's a swf means you also CAN'T skip it. Like at all. I'm sure someone out there could do some html voodoo shit but it would probably take most people longer than the intro itself lasts.

Also because you used the Dragon Ball Super opening I'm sure you are aware "The World's Strongest" is also a movie title in the series and I believe you also could probably come up with something better and more fitting that describes this series(I honestly have no idea what it's about yet. Looks like SMBZ to me).

Lastly another point that reduced your score for me was that it's an opening. That's great you put a lot of work into it and all, but if we'll be seeing this opening inside of future animations by you, I don't see a reason that it needs it's own place on the site.

I'm not going to blam your submission because I feel you are probably proud of your work(which is what Newgrounds is all about) so I'll simply give you a lower-middle score to represent what I've summed up here, hope you take some advice from mine and other people's reviews(because " FEEDBACK IS MUCH APPRECIATIVE!") and leave the blamming and saving to everyone else on the Under Judgment portal tab.

Hey there.

Sorry for the VERY late reply (I'm guessing this was 2 years since you've posted this review?), but I can see what you're saying. There shouldn't be any reason for me to include the two logos in question and I'm being extra careful not to go over the boundaries and accidentally get DMCA'd, (which, like you said before, is very uncommon on a website like Newgrounds.)

I had since took your advice and won't post an opening animation of any sort here. For now on, it'll only be in every episode of TWS that I post here instead, so there might be a chance that I'll be deleting this soon. I also understand that uploading a swf version of something like this would be annoying, especially since it'll loop continuously, so I'll make sure to include a preloader the next time I post an animation, or just upload it in a video format like a .mp4 file.

Speaking of opening, I'm currently revising this opening. It won't have Dragon Ball Super's opening music. It'll have an entirely new opening music, one that's at least passable than the one used originally. However, I won't promise changing the name of the series though, since it fits well to me.

I appreciate you not blamming me for an animation that's mediocre at best and very much appreciate the feedback you've provided me awhile back. Hopefully I'll improve my skills as time progresses.

Thank you for the constructive criticism and have a nice day.

I get what you were going for with "not much going on" because... well, it's depression. But then again the little that does happen isn't well animated or drawn and the same still we're treated to in the entire duration is pretty poorly made. Overall it just feels like you chose this topic because you wouldn't have to do much or put a lot of effort into it.

MariusMan responds:

Yeah, I did choose this particular subject because it wasn't that complicated to produce, but that doesn't mean this was the most I could put into it. It was the most I wanted to put into it. You should know that this just doesn't just exist because it was easy to make. That is maybe 25% of the reason. The main reason was that there's not much going on, in general. Plus, this is my first "real" animation ever, so I chose an appropriate subject.

Not the greatest or highest detailed modeling and textures, but excellent 3D work in making the characters move fluidly(which by the title I believe to be your goal)
Keep it up!

RaccoonRezillo responds:

Thank you :) yea if I can only choose one part to be good at I wanted to focus character animation.

Very cute style.
The colors just work really well in tandem.

ZeTrystan responds:

Thanks! I tried a few things here, I'm not that used to using colors like that. :)

I make stuff; sometimes for money, but always for fun.
